INTRODUCTION ON JOURNAL OF COAL CONVERSION
  Coal Conversion (meitan zhuanhua)， started in 1978，is supervised by Taiyuan University of Technology, sponsored by Taiyuan University of Technology, State Key Laboratory of Coal Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is published by Science Press, China.. It is an academic journal published quarterly and distributed all over the world.
  Editors of Coal Conversion, 10 of whom are academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering(Wang Buxuan, Li Jinghai, Cen Kefa, Chen Qingru, Lin Liwu, Ni Weidou, Xu Xuchang, Qian Minggao, Xian Xuefu, Xie Kechang), are recognized experts in coal chemical industry.

  Coal Conversion is the only journal of basic theory on coal chemical engineering in China. Coal Conversion reports high-quality and original papers in both basic and applied research in coal science, coal cleaning and combustion, coal pyrolysis (cracking), coal gasification and coal gas cleaning, coal liquefaction and product upgrading improvement, catalysis in coal conversion, coal comprehensive utilization,and so on.

  Coal Conversion has adopted in international editorial standard, printed English copyright page, content, abstract, key words and so on.
  Coal Conversion is one of Chinese core journals and “Chinese Journal Matrix”. Its IF of CAJCED in 2008 is 0.873; The ratio of Citation Frequency is above 800.Published articles supported by National Natural Science Foundation and other Foundation of China lies between 0.87 and 1.557.
  Coal Conversion has been cited by many well known international databases, such as Chemical Abstracts(in the 1000 most frequently cited journals), Japan Science and Technology Information System(Nippon Kagaku Gijutsu Bunken Sokuho)，Coal Abstracts, Chinese Scientific Papers and Citation Database, Chinese Scientific Literature Database, Chinese Scientific Citation Database and Chinese Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Abstracts Database and some other abstract journal databases in China as well as in the world.
  Coal Conversion is one of the top journals in the coal science category in China. It ranks No.11 in impact factor in the chemical industry category, No.13 in the published articles supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2003 based on Scientific Journal Citation Reports in China published by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China in 2005. The percentage of published articles supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, “863” and “973” programs and state key laboratories. is over 0.87-1.557 in recent years,
Coal Conversion was awarded the best 10 of Northern China (5 provinces)5 times, and was awarded the best Journal of Northern China (10 provinces) 3 times, it entered the Chinese Scientific and Technological Journal Array of high academic level and celebrity in 2001,and has been “the excellent Journals in Shanxi Province” for18 years.
  Coal Conversion has a wide raders of scientists, engineers, teachers and students working in coal science and coal utilization.
